Took Jeanne to see Potsdamer Platz - although unfortunately the Panoramapunkt (a nice insider tip) was closed. Instead, we took the touristy stroll through Brandenburger Tor and along Unter den Linden - stopping for excellent coffee and a generous serving of Apfelstrudel at Einstein. And in honour of Cristoph Waltz' recent Oscar triumph for Tarantino's Hans Landa, I of course had mine with whipped cream...
And as the snow starting falling over Berlin again, Jeanne caught her plane home to Denmark.

With only two days to go, we did our best to show Jeanne around the Schöneberg-Charlottenburg area. A tour of the KaDeWe - not least the stunning food section - lunch at Schwarzes Café and then a tour of the designer mecca Stilwerk. In the evening, dinner at April. In short, pretty much what we usually do - but nice to have company...

Having accepted Birgitte's invitation, my ex-girlfriend Jeanne joined us in Berlin. Arriving late in the evening at the remote Schönefeld airport - and following our horribly clueless directions - she spent hours on the Berlin U-bahn and S-bahn network before finally joining me for a couple of beers at (the aptly named) Slumberland.

Setting up my office in Berlin, I momentarily panicked as I realized that my Danish three-plug (grounded) power cord was not compatible with German power outlets. Fortunately, it only took a quick trip to the nearest electronics warehouse to find a new replacement cable. Phew!
